On Monday 16 March, AMUEBLA helped organise a training day for trainers as part of the European MASTERY project (Micro-credentials Empowering Sustainable Skills). The event, held at the premises of CETEM, a strategic partner of the association, marks the start of a crucial phase in the transfer of green knowledge to the classroom and, subsequently, to businesses.
As a project partner, AMUEBLA aims through this initiative to meet the growing demand for professionals specialising in sustainability. During the session, professionals from educational institutions and other organisations such as IES Castillo Puche, IES Tony Gallardo, the Yecla Red Cross and Euroformac reviewed the content of the upcoming pilot courses, which focus on three strategic areas:
- Cradle-to-Cradle design (GS4): Key to enabling companies to manufacture products designed to be fully reused.
- Efficient resource management (GS5): Focused on reducing waste and material use in production processes.
- Sustainable procurement (GS10): Aimed at circular, green and socially responsible public procurement.
One of the cornerstones of MASTERY is the introduction of micro-credentials, a European certification system that offers future workers in the sector the opportunity to obtain official accreditation for highly specific and in-demand skills, making it easier for partner companies to identify qualified talent.
The event provided a forum for dialogue between the trainers and the project’s technical staff, enabling the content to be tailored to the realities of the local business and educational landscape.
The pilot phase will run from April to June, during which students will test these courses under the supervision of the project partners. Through its participation in MASTERY, AMUEBLA reaffirms its commitment to cutting-edge training and to supporting furniture companies in their transition towards the circular economy, ensuring that the sector has the tools it needs to compete in the European market.
