Last Thursday 10th July, AMEUBLA hosted in Spain a meeting of the European project FurnitureLCA, an initiative focused on training companies in the furniture sector and related professionals to carry out the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of their products.
During the meeting, the consortium partners started working on the development of a methodological guide that will serve as a basis for training companies in the correct assessment of the environmental impact of their furniture throughout its life cycle. This tool will be key to facilitating the sector’s transition towards more sustainable practices in line with European environmental regulations.
In addition to structuring the content of the future guide, the attendees reviewed the main regulations and standards in force that affect the calculation of the LCA, with the aim of ensuring its correct implementation in the business environment. The meeting concluded with the definition of the objectives to be achieved in the coming months, thus marking a clear roadmap for the progress of the project.
FurnitureLCA continues to consolidate itself as a strategic project to prepare the habitat sector for the challenges of sustainability, transparency and regulatory compliance.
