The European project FITT-NESS (Fostering Innovation and Dual Transition for Inclusive Environments and Smart Homes) has officially started with a kick-off meeting held on 28-29 November in the vibrant city of Porto, hosted by the University of Porto. Sincere thanks to our wonderful hosts for their exceptional organisation and warm welcome.
We also extend our gratitude to the project partners: SHINE 2Europe, CEIPES, CETEM and, of course, to the clusters closely aligned with AMUEBLA, such as FLA and APIMA, for their commitment and collaboration. Together, we embark on an exciting journey to innovate, strengthen value chains and promote the sustainable and circular transformation of the furniture industry.
FITT-NESS, funded with €1.5 million through the Horizon Europe programme, aims to transform the furniture sector through innovation and sustainability, connecting key regions in Europe such as Northern Portugal, Murcia (Spain), Sicily and Lombardy (Italy). Over the next two years, the project will work on activities such as the analysis of skills and trends in the sector, the strengthening of labour competences and the development of business support services, with a focus on digital and green transition.
By promoting sustainable housing, adapted environments and smart homes, FITT-NESS represents a unique opportunity to position the furniture sector as a leader in innovation and sustainability. We are confident that the collaboration between partners will make this project a success, marking a before and after in the industry.
