ALLVIEW launches guide to improve vocational training in the woodworking and furniture sector

The ALLVIEW project, in the framework of the Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) initiative, has published the ‘Guide for the implementation of EU VET policies in the wood and furniture sector’. This document aims to facilitate the understanding of European Vocational Education and Training (VET) policies and to support organisations in the sector in improving their training programmes.

The guide provides a detailed description of the key concepts of VET, as well as the policies and principles established by the European Union to improve the quality of training in strategic sectors. It also provides an insight into the available instruments that stakeholders in the wood and furniture sector can use to optimise their skills and competences.

Among the main benefits that the guide seeks to promote are:

  • Improved transparency and comparability of qualifications within the sector, facilitating the alignment of standards across Europe.
  • Easier labour mobility between EU countries, thanks to the harmonisation of curricula.
  • Increased permeability between different levels of training within the VET system, favouring more flexible career paths.
  • Boosting lifelong learning by providing continuous training opportunities for workers.
  • Attracting young talent, making the training offer more attractive to new generations.

The aim of this guide is to ensure that the training offer in the wood and furniture sector responds to the current needs of the labour market and the challenges posed by the digital and ecological transformation, climate change and global competition. ALLVIEW believes that active collaboration between educational institutions, companies and stakeholders is essential to ensure a sustainable and competitive future for the sector.

To facilitate the understanding of the main points, an infographic summarising the key contents of the guide has been included. With this tool, ALLVIEW reaffirms its commitment to improving vocational education and training in Europe and preparing the sector for future challenges.
