The FurnitureLCA project continues to develop according to the initial plan. The initiative aims to train companies in the furniture sector in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of their products so that they can work on measuring and reducing their environmental impact, creating more efficient production models and sustainable working environments.
Since the consortium meeting held last July, the project stakeholders have been developing a methodological guide (Master Guide) that will serve as a basis for training companies in the correct assessment of the environmental impact of their furniture throughout its life cycle. This tool will be key to facilitating the sector’s transition towards more sustainable practices that are in line with European environmental regulations. In addition, the creation of a Knowledge Hub has been completed, a digital database containing regulations, guidelines and case studies on LCA, PEF and EPD in the furniture sector.
One of the objectives AMUEBLA is currently working on is the development of case studies with companies in the furniture sector at an international level, which will enable conclusions to be drawn about the life cycle analysis of their products.
Within the framework of the project, the collaboration and understanding between AMUEBLA, INNOVAWOOD, INNORENEW and GLOBALNET, the driving organisations, is key to continuing to promote the consolidation of Furniture LCA within the housing sector as a driving force for achieving sustainability, transparency and regulatory compliance challenges.
