FurnitureLCA, a project led by AMUEBLA, was present at the last edition of the Yecla Furniture Fair, one of the key events of the sector in Spain. The fair served as a platform to publicise the objectives of the project, which aroused considerable interest among professionals and companies attending, especially for its focus on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), an increasingly relevant tool in the transition towards a more sustainable industry.
During the event, valuable contacts were generated with companies in the sector that have shown interest in participating in future project activities, which will strengthen collaboration with the local and regional industrial ecosystem.
What is FurnitureLCA?
The project aims to train companies in the furniture sector – including SMEs, professionals and students – in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to help them measure and reduce their environmental impact.
Through a set of tools and resources – such as a Knowledge Hub, a Master Guide and specific training materials – FurnitureLCA provides key knowledge on Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
With this initiative, AMUEBLA seeks to facilitate compliance with environmental regulations, improve the sustainability of the habitat sector and open up new business opportunities in markets that are increasingly demanding environmental performance.
