AMUEBLA Hosts the Third Transnational Meeting of the European GREENIFY Project

The Erasmus+ project partners met in early October to assess progress on the educational tools developed, review pilot activities, and coordinate the final actions aimed at encouraging more girls and young women to pursue STEM education and careers related to sustainability.

AMUEBLA hosted the third transnational meeting of the European GREENIFY project, an initiative funded by the Erasmus+ programme that aims to promote access to scientific and technological education for girls and young women, as well as career opportunities linked to the green transition.

The meeting brought together representatives from the five organisations making up the international consortium to review the work carried out to date, assess the results achieved, and establish priorities for the final stage of the project, which is scheduled to conclude in November 2026.

Over the two days, the partners discussed issues related to the development of educational materials, training and piloting activities, communication and dissemination strategies, and the planning of outstanding tasks. The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen cooperation among the participating organisations and make further progress towards their shared goal of introducing green careers to the next generation of European women.

One of the main topics addressed during the meeting was the review of the training resources developed through GREENIFY, particularly the STEM Toolkit and the Sustainability Management Modules.

These resources aim to facilitate the development of scientific, technological, and environmental skills through practical methodologies and materials tailored to the needs of their target audiences.

The STEM Toolkit is primarily aimed at girls and young women aged 15 to 19. It provides activities and educational content connecting STEM disciplines — Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics — with the challenges of sustainability and emerging employment opportunities in the green economy.

Meanwhile, the Sustainability Management Modules target young women aged 19 to 30 and address topics such as the circular economy, sustainable business models, emissions reduction, and sustainability management in professional settings.

The project also includes supporting materials for STEM teachers and Vocational Education and Training (VET) trainers, designed to facilitate the integration of these topics into their educational activities.

During the meeting held in Yecla, the consortium reviewed these resources and assessed the progress of the pilot activities, paying particular attention to the feedback collected and potential improvements to the materials before the project concludes.

GREENIFY, whose full title is Innovative curricula for enhancing of young females to boost the green transition, was launched with the aim of helping to reduce gender inequalities in access to STEM disciplines and emerging career opportunities related to sustainability.

The initiative places particular emphasis on girls and young women from rural areas or families in which parents do not hold university degrees, as these groups may face greater barriers to accessing certain educational and professional pathways.

In addition to reviewing the training materials, the transnational meeting provided an opportunity to assess the progress of communication and dissemination activities carried out by the participating organisations.

The partners shared the progress achieved and worked together to coordinate the remaining activities, with particular attention to disseminating the educational resources and encouraging their use by teachers, training centres, and young people interested in pursuing careers in sustainability-related sectors.

During this final stage, the project is focusing on consolidating the results achieved, incorporating feedback from the pilot activities, and facilitating access to the educational materials developed, which are available in several European languages.

By hosting this third transnational meeting, AMUEBLA reaffirms its commitment to European projects that promote education, equal opportunities, and the development of new skills to address the challenges of the future labour market.
