AMUEBLA has actively participated in the final event of the European project NewEcoSmart (NES), held at the facilities of CETEM (Technological Centre of Furniture and Wood) in Yecla, where the main results of this initiative focused on promoting the green and digital transition in European rural areas were presented.
This project, in which AMUEBLA has taken part as a partner, has had as its main objective to strengthen the digital and sustainable skills of the adult population, especially those over 45 years old, through specialised training and participatory methodologies. During the event, the achievements were shared, such as the creation of more than 20 training modules in five languages, an innovative microlearning app, a skills self-diagnosis tool and the development of local pilots in Spain, Portugal and Italy.
The event, inaugurated by the director of CETEM, José Francisco Puche, and the councillor for New Technologies, Dynamisation and Economic Development of the Yecla City Council, María Isabel Pérez, was attended by institutional representatives, international experts and collaborating entities of the project.
During the conference, AMUEBLA also had the opportunity to present the European project ENDURANCE, which it coordinates and which promotes innovation and sustainability in the habitat sector. The intervention was part of a session dedicated to other initiatives related to the double ecological and digital transition, together with projects such as Circler (CETEM) and FITT-NESS (University of Porto).
The day ended with a round table discussion on the importance of training, citizen involvement and collaboration between agents in the territory to accelerate social and economic transformation in line with the values of sustainability and innovation.
AMUEBLA values very positively the participation in NewEcoSmart, both for the tangible results obtained and for the strengthening of the European cooperation network, and reaffirms the commitment of the association with training, digitisation and sustainable development in the rural area.
