NewEcoSmart project gathers in Brussels for first consortium meeting

Brussels has been the place chosen to start the first meeting of the NewEcoSmart project, an innovative initiative led by the Furniture and Wood Technology Centre (CETEM). This collaboration involves seven partners from Spain, Italy and Portugal, and its main objective is to promote the transition of the habitat sector and rural regions towards a greener and smarter ecosystem.

The kick-off meeting laid the groundwork for key activities to be carried out in the latter part of 2023. One of the key aspects of the project is the creation of an extensive network of contacts interested in this double transition, which promises to revolutionise the way we understand and approach sustainable development in the field of habitat and rural areas.

In addition, the NewEcoSmart project will focus on identifying the specific needs of these regions in terms of skills and competences required to build an innovation ecosystem in line with the global and competitive world in which we find ourselves. This initiative promises not only to boost the local economy, but also to contribute significantly to the fight against climate change and the creation of more sustainable communities.
