On the occasion of the #ERASMUSDAYS and in an exciting step towards promoting gender equality in the business environment, the Erasmus PENELOPE project has announced the release of its promotional video.
The project, which is supported by a partnership of entrepreneurs and cluster professionals from France, Spain, Austria and Romania, has embarked on a three-year mission that will run from November 2022 to October 2025.
The central objective of PENELOPE is to develop, transfer and implement innovative practices related to gender mainstreaming strategies in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe. To achieve this, the project will adopt a cluster-based methodological approach, aiming to build inclusive gender cultures and promote online cooperation and blended learning opportunities between EU industry clusters and their SME partners.
PENELOPE has set out to create a series of tools and resources aimed at promoting gender equality in European companies. These tools will mainly target clusters (networks of SMEs grouping companies in the same sector) and PTCEs (Territorial Platforms for Economic Cooperation), with the aim of having a broad and effective reach.
The main tools to be developed as part of this project include:
- Gender Equality Guidelines Manual: This manual will provide clear guidelines for cluster staff on how to mainstream gender equality. It will include good practices, interviews, assessment tools, methods to improve communication and monitoring of the situation of women and men in the companies.
- Video Toolkit: This will consist of approximately 20 videos on gender equality strategies. These videos will serve as a guide for clusters and SMEs to build a corporate culture and develop internal gender mainstreaming strategies.
- Online Training Platform: PENELOPE will develop an online training platform that will offer various learning and training pathways for cluster and SME staff. This platform will incorporate gamification techniques to make learning more interactive and effective.
